This is The Collective's first Music PEI Nomination. The group is comprised of Alan Dowling on drums, Ian Toms on Guitar, Ken Fornetran on Sax, Deryl Gallant on Bass, Mark Parsons on Trumpet, and Sean Ferris on Keys.

Once again the Winterjazz group, Glen Strickey Quartet, has been nominated for Achievement in Jazz. The group is comprised of Glen Strickey on Sax, Ian Toms on Guitar, Alan Dowling on Drums, and Deryl Gallant on Bass.

It's 2002...the Jive Kings were all but done...another nomination...we were up against my late teen heroes, Sloan. I was happy to let them have it.

It's 2001...now we have a new fan base..a new CD...a powerhouse Opera singer on the verge of her international explosion, and new suits from Dows mensware...we smelled like confidence..and coffee.

I didn't even know we were nominated. Then I found out we won. Way cool.

ECMA: Jive Kings - Win for ECMA Jazz Artist of the Year

It's 2000...we've made some fans on PEI but not many people on the other side of the Ferry knew about us. So we mailed our CD to ever ECMA member ahead of the vote :) It worked.

Colonel Gray: Ted Palmer Award

Awarded to the Colonel Gray music student who Most Exemplifies Colonel Grey Music Spirit. I was shocked and honoured to be presented with this award at my highschool graduation. I also received $100 which felt like $100,000 at the time.
