Donna Garner & The Island Boys Little Big Band
An evening of big band favorites featuring the best tunes of the era and presented by award winning talent from the island and beyond. Donna Garner heads up this band of very fine island based players, singing her most favourite tunes from this golden era of Big Band music. Among them, Donna and the “Island Boys” have performed across North America, in theatres, on ships and with orchestras and bands from coast to coast. You may have seen one or more of the band members perform with the Jive Kings, the PEI Symphony, Symphony Nova Scotia, Maritime Brass, the Charlottetown Jazz Ensemble, Ekletikos New Music Project, and either on stage or “under” the stage as part of the Charlottetown Festival. Between them, they have garnered numerous awards and recordings, and are faculty members of a number of prestigious college and universities in the country.
